Dry Ice Blasting/Cleaning

Dry ice blasting is a relatively new and revolutionary method of industrial cleaning. It is eco- friendly, nonabrasive, nonflammable and nonconductive. Dry Ice blasting is an efficient and cost effective method to clean or prepare a surface for restoration. Its versatility allows for many different applications, from dusting a smoke damaged antique book to cleaning large industrial equipment, such as in automotive and aerospace manufacturing plants. Dry ice blasting is an FDA, EPA and USDA approved cleaning medium. There are many advantages to using dry ice blasting over traditional blasting media. Unlike sandblasting or plastic bead blasting, that use hard abrasive media to grind a surface, sometimes damaging or distorting it, dry ice blasting uses soft dry ice to impact a surface. Traditional cleaning methods leave secondary contaminants such as harsh chemicals from solvents or grit media from sand blasting and soda blasting. Dry ice blasting simply lifts the undesirable material from the surface, reducing or eliminating the need to dispose of toxic “secondary waste”.
